Open Call for Cinema Caravane Decor Proposals

Call for artistic proposals

CineGlobe, the International Film Festival at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland announces a new call for artistic proposals. Beyond our flagship festival event, CineGlobe brings science-inspired cinema to local audiences using our Cinema Caravan. We are now looking for an artist to decorate this hand-made mobile cinema and make it truly iconic.

The artist should make the caravan visually appealing to a range of audiences including families and emphasise the CineGlobe key themes of science/engineering, cinema/photography and innovation/curiosity.

We are offering payment of CHF5’000 to cover time and materials for an artist eligible and available to work in Geneva. The work should be completed by the end of March 2022 in time for the caravan’s summer 2022 tour.

Details

Interested applicants should fill out the form below with personal contact information. You will receive back further details about the dimensions and physical size of the Cinema Caravane for your proposal.

How to apply

After filling out the contact form below, you will need to submit the following information to caravane@cineglobe.ch

  • brief description of the artist’s vision for the caravan decoration (max 300 words)
  • short statement about the artist’s interest in science and/or cinema (max 300 words)
  • proposed timeline and budget for completing the project
  • brief artist CV
  • any other documents the artist feels would support their application, with a short description of each in the application email

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and should arrive on or before Friday, the 20th August 2021. The winner will be announced during the 10th edition of the CineGlobe Film Festival at CERN, August 25-29, 2021.
