Theme : Transformation / Transcendence

The challenges that face our society now and in the near future – climate change, antibiotic resistance, clean energy, healthy livestock production, and more – require not only novel scientific and technological solutions; they also require us to look within ourselves. We must not only find new ways of doing things, but we must also transform ourselves – how we think, how we act, and how we envision our future. But simple transformation might not be enough. We will also need to dig deep within, summon an inner courage, and transcend, rising above our differences in order to create a sustainable, equitable, and inspiring future for all.

Send us your short films of any format that speak to the themes of transformation and transcendence. Don’t be shy – we’ve got varied tastes and are looking for refreshing, unusual works that you might not expect to see at a regular science film festival.

CineGlobe 2019 consists of 3 competitions:

• Fiction– Up to twenty (20) minutes, credits excluded, finished after 1 January 2016.
• Documentary– Up to thirty-five (35) minutes, credits excluded, finished after 1 January 2016.
• Youth– Up to ten (10) minutes, credits excluded, finished after 1 January 2016. Must be suitable for all ages.
