CineGlobe: Art–Science Film Accelerator

The 15th edition of CineGlobe will take place from 5 to 7 June at the CERN Science Gateway campus in Meyrin.

TRANSITIONS is the central theme of this edition, making cinema a true accelerator of futures – a space for dialogue between science, society and imagination. CineGlobe 2026 is part of CERN’s cultural season Generation Higgs.

On Friday 5 June, CineGlobe puts the spotlight on its school programme: daytime activities are designed for classes, combining screenings and film education workshops. In the evening, the festival officially opens with an opening film followed by a discussion.

On 6–7 June, the festival continues with a programme open to everyone – families, film lovers and curious minds – and a series of hands-on workshops for all ages (subject to capacity).
Highlights include optics and perception experiments, DIY image-making and simple devices, animation filmmaking (easy techniques and making), and other participatory formats to explore science and cinema through practice.

Over three days, CineGlobe offers a journey across cinema, science and immersive creation:

  • International competitions for short films and immersive projects (XR/VR/AR)
  • Documentaries, talks and exchanges with the teams
  • Audiovisual performance, immersive installations and interactive experiences
  • Workshops and film education for schools (5 June), then for the public and families (6–7 June)
