Thank you for this amazing 7th edition!
The 7th edition of the CineGlobe, International Film Festival at CERN, was a true success! The public, the filmmakers and our guests met at the heart of the biggest laboratory of research of particles physics to celebrate the convergence of art, cinema and science!
This year, for the first time, a special edition of the 48 Hour Film Project – entirely dedicated to Virtual Reality and Science Fiction – has been set up at CERN. The participant teams filmed their short-films about virtual reality during one weekend (17-19 March 2017), in collaboration with GoPro, Festival Tous Ecrans, and the World VR Forum.
In addition, the public was invited to the Post Fact Hack, a hackathon entirely dedicated to discussing new ways of communication in this post-factual era. The participants presented their projects on Wednesday 22 March and the winner team, Parallel Perspectives, received 2000 CHF to finance their idea.
The festival also awarded the films that were most loved by the public and to those chosen by the Jury.

The festival, which run from 21 to 26 March 2017 at the Globe of Science and Innovation at CERN, welcomed more than 3000 visitors and participants during the 6 days of the festival. The public reacted positively to the programming of our feature films and short-film sessions, to the Post Fact Hack, the 48 Hour Film Project VR, the special evenings and in particular to the workshops.
This edition of CineGlobe proposed four different workshops, in collaboration with other associations, all focused on image manipulation. The workshops were open to everyone and we are very proud for the affluence of participants of all ages.
