VIRTUAL CAMERA

“Thanks for showing me something I’ve never seen before,”

-Steven Spielberg

Dayton Taylor is the founder and president of Digital Air (digitalair.com). Dayton invented and patented “virtual camera movement”, the process of using an array of cameras to render the virtual point of view of a moving camera, and has produced visual effects using his technology around the world for over twenty years, most recently for the upcoming Paramount Pictures film GHOST IN THE SHELL starring Scarlett Johansson. Neal and Dayton will discuss how Dayton took his idea from an array of hand-made box cameras to one of the most complex camera systems ever used in cinema.
